TOKYO, JAPAN – MAY 11, 2021 Virtual Photo Walks today announces its certification as a Non-Profit (NPO) in Japan. This will enable VPW to reach more people with serious and life limiting illness to enjoy the freedom to experience places and people they can only dream about.
“As we face Covid-19 isolation, illness, and disability, many people need to experience a new way of seeing. Offering them Virtual Photo Walks via Zoom.us to experience selected locations, and the natural world in real time is transformative and healing,” said Noriko Nagahori, CEO of Virtual Photo Walks Japan.
Virtual Photo Walks is an organization pioneering alternative methods of the virtual world experience, and provides patient-centred, compassionate virtual experiences to people everywhere.
Since 2011, Virtual Photo Walks, has been using the power of cloud-based videoconferencing zoom.us technology to enable the disabled, infirm and those isolated and hospitalized – young and old – to visit distant places. Using “virtual volunteer guides” equipped with smart phones, the disabled can participate in immersive, real-time experiences of places they will likely never see first-hand. They can interact with each other in real time and their virtual photographer guide in each private videoconference.
“ At Virtual Photo Walks, we walk the walk for those that can’t,” said John Butterill Founder/Director. “Our organization is widely recognized for its unique approach to making a difference in people’s lives.”
Virtual Photo Walks is dedicated to providing unique events of the highest quality for people isolated by covid-19 or in palliative care. The organization has also been harnessing the opportunities to provide videoconferencing technology to care for people with serious illnesses entirely in their home.
“Zoom Technology is part of the amazing care and services that organizations like Virtual Photo Walks provide to people who are going through difficult challenges and experiences. “ Zoom believes that technology can and should be a tool that enhances the connection and closeness between care providers and those who rely on them,” said Eric Yuan Zoom CEO
