Privacy Policy

**NPO Virtual Photo Walk** (hereinafter referred to as “the Corporation”) establishes the following Privacy Policy to appropriately handle personal information obtained through the websites, applications, online events, and other services operated by the Corporation (hereinafter referred to as “the Services”) and to respect the privacy of participants.

 

***## Article 1: Basic Policy

 

The Corporation complies with the Act on the Protection of Personal Information and other relevant laws and regulations, and manages acquired personal information appropriately. Participants in the Corporation’s activities may include individuals who require special consideration regarding privacy, such as those who have difficulty going out, those undergoing medical treatment, elderly persons, and persons with disabilities. Therefore, the Corporation’s basic policy is not to acquire personal information beyond the scope necessary for participation in activities and provision of services.

In providing the Services, the Corporation may collect the following information as necessary:- Name or nickname - Email address - City/ward of residence - Information related to registration and use of the Services - Information provided by the individual when making inquiries, etc. - Other information necessary to provide the Services safely and appropriately The city/ward of residence is used to confirm eligibility for services targeted at residents of specific areas, such as subsidy programs by local governments. As a rule, the Corporation does not request detailed addresses including town names or block numbers, and collects only the minimum regional information necessary for service provision. Additionally, as a rule, the Corporation does not require the provision of detailed health or medical information—such as disease names, disability names, treatment details, or levels of required care—as a condition for participation in the Services. If it becomes necessary to collect such information, the Corporation will clearly state the necessity and purpose of use and handle it appropriately in accordance with applicable laws.

 

***## Article 3: Purpose of Use of Personal Information

 

The Corporation uses acquired personal information for the following purposes:- Registration for the Services and identity verification - Providing notices regarding events and activities conducted by the Corporation, including Virtual Photo Walks - Providing participation information for online events using Zoom or similar platforms - Confirming residence in designated areas for services with specified participant regions, such as local government subsidy programs - Preventing unauthorized use, impersonation, nuisance behavior, and other acts that compromise the safety of the Services - Responding to inquiries - Operating, improving, and enhancing the safety of the Services - Notifying users of important changes, Terms of Service, Privacy Policy updates, etc. - Other purposes for which the individual’s consent has been obtained The Corporation will not use acquired personal information beyond the above purposes without the individual’s consent, except as permitted by law.

 

***## Article 4: Provision of Personal Information to Third Parties

 

The Corporation will not provide personal information to third parties without the individual’s consent, except in the following cases:- When required by law - When necessary to protect a person’s life, body, or property and it is difficult to obtain the individual’s consent - Other cases permitted by law

 

***## Article 5: Use of External Services

 

In providing the Services, the Corporation may use external services such as Zoom. When using external services, information such as display names, email addresses, and connection details may be handled by the respective service providers. The handling of personal information by external services may be governed by the privacy policies established by each service provider. The Corporation endeavors to appropriately select external services with due consideration for safety and personal information protection.

 

***## Article 6: Privacy in Online Events

 

In online events using Zoom or similar platforms, information set by participants—such as display names, video, audio, and other data—may be displayed or shared with other participants. Participants may choose methods to protect their privacy, such as using nicknames or turning off their cameras as needed. The Corporation requests that participants do not record, capture, save, repost, or provide to third parties any other participants’ video, audio, display names, comments, or other information without permission from the individuals concerned and the Corporation. Specific prohibited acts and participation rules shall follow the Terms of Service separately established by the Corporation.

 

***## Article 7: Recording, Audio Capture, Photography, etc.

 

When the Corporation records, captures audio, or photographs events, it will notify participants in advance of such actions and their purposes as necessary. When using video, photographs, audio, or other materials that can identify specific participants in publicity materials, websites, social media, or other publicly accessible media, the Corporation will obtain necessary consent in accordance with applicable laws and rules.

 

***## Article 8: Security Management

 

The Corporation implements reasonable and appropriate security measures to prevent unauthorized access, leakage, loss, alteration, and other incidents involving acquired personal information. The Corporation also appropriately manages directors, staff, volunteers, and other relevant parties who handle personal information, within the necessary scope.

 

***## Article 9: Retention and Deletion of Personal Information

 

As a rule, the Corporation retains personal information only for the period necessary to achieve the purposes of use. For personal information no longer required to be retained, the Corporation endeavors to delete or anonymize it by appropriate methods, except when retention is required by law or other reasons.

 

***## Article 10: Confirmation, Correction, Deletion, etc. of Registered Information

 

Upon request from an individual for disclosure, correction, addition, deletion, suspension of use, or other legally permitted actions regarding their personal information held by the Corporation, the Corporation will verify the individual’s identity and respond appropriately in accordance with relevant laws. Individuals may also request withdrawal from the Services or deletion of registered information through methods prescribed by the Corporation.

When minors use the Services, consent from a parent or other legal guardian may be requested depending on age and the nature of the services.

 

***## Article 12: Access Information, etc.

 

The Corporation’s website or applications may collect cookies, access logs, device information, and similar data for safe operation, understanding usage patterns, and improving services. When such information is used in connection with personal information, it will be handled in accordance with this Policy and relevant laws.

 

***## Article 13: Use for Profit-Making Purposes, etc.

 

The Corporation will not use acquired personal information for sale to third parties or similar purposes without the individual’s consent.

 

***## Article 14: Changes to This Policy

 

The Corporation may revise this Policy as necessary due to amendments to laws, changes to the Services, or other reasons. In the event of significant changes, the Corporation will notify users through clear methods on its website or within the Services.
