User Guide

 

1 About This App

​

This web app makes it easier to join Virtual Photo Walks live walks.

It was designed to be simple and intuitive for older adults, people with disabilities, people who have difficulty going out, and people who are less familiar with digital technology.

The app was officially released on September 7, 2026. We will continue improving its usability and safety while listening carefully to your feedback.

2 How to Access the App

You do not need to install a program. The app can be used in a browser on an iPhone, Android device, tablet, or PC.

3 Main Features Currently Available

​

  • Check recently completed walks.

  • Check upcoming walks.

  • View past walks and photos.

  • Learn about Virtual Photo Walks activities.

  • Switch between Japanese and English.

  • Change the text size.

  • Check announcements.

  • Register as a viewer.

  • Submit a review.

  • Share the app with family and friends.

  • Add the app to your home screen.

 

4 Joining Live Walks

​

Simply opening the app does not allow you to join a live event, although you can see info of Past events or Upcoming events.

Register using the “Viewer Registration” button. Once approved, you will receive a participation code by email. Enter that code the first time to verify your device.

The “Join Live Walk” button turns blue 30 minutes before the event begins. Press the button to join.

5 Getting Started

​

  1. Check the home screen for the latest walk.

  2. Open “Upcoming” to view scheduled walks and details.

  3. Open “Past” to view completed walks and photos.

  4. Change the language or text size when needed.

  5. Share the app with family and friends.

  6. Add the app to your home screen for easier access.

 

6 Share Your Feedback

Please contact the Virtual Photo Walks team if anything is difficult to use or understand, if something does not display correctly, or if you have a feature suggestion. Your feedback will help guide future improvements.

7 When Reporting a Problem

​

To the extent possible, please provide the following information:

  • The device you used, such as an iPhone 15, Android device, or Windows PC.

  • The browser you used, such as Safari, Chrome, or Edge.

  • The screen where the problem occurred.

  • What you did or which button you pressed when the problem occurred.

  • Any message that was displayed.

  • If possible, a screenshot of the screen.

 

8 Important Notes

​

  • Content and features may change as we continue improving the service.

  • Do not share your participation code or live participation information with anyone else.

  • If personal information or Zoom participation details appear on the screen, do not repost or share them. Contact the Virtual Photo Walks team instead.

  • Please do not repost screenshots showing participants without permission.

  • Please follow the Terms of Use and Privacy Policy.
